Until I can leave to go get my baby girl from being spayed! They haven't called so I think no news is good news. I will pamper her! I missed her... I can't wait to see her. Now to keep the goon calm! I think tonight she'll be sleepy, but tomorrow I bet she'll be back to herself!

Glad she is doing well! Good luck on keeping her calm. Today you should be in luck. If you find any good ways to keep her calm please pass them along! Lucky was bouncing off the walls! He learned all new "tricks". His best was hurdling our couches! Ahhhh!

I just got the call She's fine, but has some "congestion" whatever that means (they said not kennel cough) so I'll have to ask more when I get there. Either way, we'll deal. Hoping it's not a heart issue or anything. But it sounds like they were a little concerned with putting her under. So glad she's okay! Leaving now!

Jenna.....Lexi did pretty well when I picked her up the next morning after the surgery. I had hoped to bring her home the same day, but my Vet likes to keep them overnight, in case of bleeding. She had a lot of scar tissue from having the two litters of puppies, but improved a little more each day.
I know tomorrow she will be feeling better, and not so unsteady. Feel better Sweet Girl!:smooch: You are so lucky to have your Mom to cuddle and spoil you.

She has an extra cushy doggie bed and blankets in her crate, fresh water, and easy snacks. I am afraid to bring her in my bed in case she jumps down. She seems content to be left in peace, but she is right beside me so I can make sure she doesn't chew. I left her tags on and it'll wake me if she moves around. She hasn't even attempted so far.

Starlite is in the bed with me- he gets neutered on Friday, and our cat gets spayed that day too. I'm so nervous! I hate this! Can't wait until they're all done.

Poor baby girl is miserable. She is also bleeding out her vagina a little, but the vet says that's usually not a big deal unless it's extreme. She has not moved at all except to pee and I had to leash her. She is clearly in agony. I have given her pain medication. She does drink and eat.

Have you checked w/vet recently and told him she is in agony?
I don't recall my dogs hurting that much the following day after spaying?
Sounds good that she ie eating and drinking and I would leave her on the floor-you are right, you don't want her jumping.

Yes, I did call. She is an older (almost three) dog who has had a litter, so the surgery is harder on them I guess.

I think I am going to cancel Starlite's neuter. The thought of losing him after finally getting him back is more than I can handle, and he'll be the only intact pet in the house once the puppy is done. (and he's not dominant, pushy, or particularly a horny type of dog, doesn't mark, etc). I'm just so scared with the HW positive thing, too. Sigh. So much worry!

I worry too! I haven't had a female to be fixed and picked my boys up the day after and they were fine. I don't believe she should be hurting. My cats sure didn't. Is she better now that she had some pain meds?

I hope she gets better with every passing minute. I think I would have to cancel Starlite's neuter too. Too much worry in one week! Maybe you can reconsider once things settle down and you have the HW taken are of.

Buster was so woozy when I picked him up at the shelter it was funny, except I hated him being so woozy. I had two convicts (they work there) trying to pick him up. The one with the backside tried to put Buster's feet on the ground to see if he would stand and that big sweet boy would put his feet out to the side so they would not touch ground! Poor guys kept saying "He is BIG!". They gave up on getting him to stand and carried him to my car.:)

He did not seem to be in pain though and they didn't give me any pain medicine. IF I had thought about it, I would have brought some of Copper's. Just one med of many we keep on hand. Sigh.
