I just realized that I have had Trooper for a year now. I can't believe it's been that long. Time sure does fly. He's completely become part of the family. We've been on trips to the beach 5 times, went to N. Ga for Octoberfest, he was included in my sons' birthday party, numerous weekend outings to the lake for bar-b-ques. He really is great. We're starting to leave him out of his crate when we are not home and he has been doing really well. He is 20 months old now. He's great with my kids, and they have a blast together. When I can, I take him with me to get the boys from school. He gets so excited when they come into the car and the boys think it's a treat when he comes along to get them.

Welcome to the forum. Trooper is gorgeous. Your boys will never have a better friend.
Oh- he's a beauty! I don't have a golden. Yet. But I'm thinking about it really hard, in part because I keep hearing how good they are with kids. Your youngest looks pretty close to my nephew's age and it sounds like they're doing great!
How time flies when you are having fun. Trooper sounds like he is just a great pup and a great buddy to your sons.

You should get one. They are amazing. ;)
I think it's more their upbringing, training, etc, than the breed, but they have a reputation for being great family dogs.

He is 4, will be 5 next month. Trooper has accidentally knocked him down while they were outside playing chase and playing with balls( almost 80 lb of dog compared to a 38-42lb child), but my son has never been hurt and thinks its fun to play with him. They're never left alone, and I have taught my son simple animal rules. No complaints here.:)
