So as some of you know I had major surgery (the big H) a week and a half ago. I am basically allowed to do nothing. Prior to my operation, I went over the big dogs care with DH, knowing that it wouldn't be done as I would have, but you would think he would put more effort into it.
Two days ago, I walked out to the kennel (I am allowed to walk) and Tags water bucket was gross, he had shredded a blanket-still in his kennel- and pieces were in his water, plus I think he was playing in it. Now, I know I wasn't supposed to, but I couldn't leave it like that. So I carefully let everyone out in the big yard, which is usually a fire drill, but they all did good, then dumped out his water and refilled the bucket. Breeze and Dooley's water wasn't as bad, but needed changing as well (I didn't change theirs out, but asked DH to do it when he got home). Their food bowls were all dirty, so I switched them all out also while they were out.
Today, I walked out there, and I could see, through the dog doors to the outside runs, that there was poop in them. I locked the dogs inside and walked around to the outside runs and he hasn't picked up poop since I did it before the operation!
Before you get too grossed out, let me say that Dooley and Breeze will usually wait until they go out in the big yard to poop, and Tag has a little larger, covered grassy area he can go in. So they weren't running through it, but Tags yard was terrible! So again, I did what I wasn't supposed to do, and scooped the poop.
When I spoke to DH about the water thing, he said dogs drink dirty water all the time...WELL MINE DON'T! I can just imagine what he is going to say when I address the poop situation. I so wish I could have my dogs with me, but the puppy is big, and very enthusiastic, and Dooley is just a momma's boy that he will try to come up and sit on my lap, sometimes with no warning. I just can't take the chance.
I thought about sending Tag to the field trainer for FF but right now $600 a month is not an option. Thanks for letting me vent. I know beggars can't be choosers, but geeze this is a tough one for me.
