Hi all,
Its been a while since I posted (I'm new and don't get to post that much).
Maggie is 8 months now and still a total pup although her training is coming along.
I take her for a bath and groom every 6-8 weeks but I notice that her ears and right behind them get scraggly pretty quickly - they almost look greasy.

I brush it out but is there anything else I can do?
She is such a pretty dog but this can get sort of obvious. Trivial I know but I am really curious if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks.
Susan

Greasy ears is quite common, even in healthy dogs w/o ear infections. Quiz gets that way about 5 wks after a bath. Best bet is to bathe the dog and walk the external ear fur with Dawn liquid soap. It does a great job at cutting the grease on the ears.

Both my guys have this to some extent. But be sure to take a look deep into your pups ears to make sure there is not an accumulation of black gunk in the ear. Goldens are prone to ear infections.

Thanks everyone! I looked inside her ears but didn't see anything alarming. I'm just brushing it out and maybe I'll trim in a bit.
