This week I've had three different people ask me if Tess is part Chow, because of the pigment spots on her tongue. I always explain that it is pigment, and that many other dog breeds have those spots, but still....I can get the Setter question, the Lab question, but Tess and Chow?

Tess is beautiful! Nugget has two treat spots on his tongue and our breeder says that they are very common in goldens. I suppose that you can always do a DNA test and hand out copies to the non-believers.

Yep, we get that too with Tucker. Get used to it. People will even argue with you about it too! It will make you appreciate meeting someone who really knows goldens!

Our Cory had them, and we also got the chow question. Or rather the statement: She "must" have chow in her! I told them, yes, it was purina (which it wasn't, of course).

I get this with Enzo - I just tell people that he chewed up a pen and the ink stained his tongue. lol
