currently there is only a few contests, just for fun i think there should be contests with the dogs. such as dogs wearing hats, or cutest outfit etc, and dogs on walks n pick the best picture then the winner piks the next topic so there is more then one contest each month :

The contests can take a fair amount of time for a Mod to gather all the pictures in the posts and make polls for each contest.

In the past people have posted such topics as you have mentioned in the picture forum for everyone to just submit pictures to but no contest was ever set up. It was just more for fun.

Remembering the start & finish dates is a problem for each contest and it can take a couple of hours (sometimes more) to set up each month's voting poll. And it generally has to be done in 1 sitting, and you can't do anything else while doing it. So right now it is just not an option for me to take on another one.
