We picked up Lucy from the breeder on Saturday and at her vet check on Monday it was determined that she had coccidia. She's had 2 doses of Albon already and the diarrhea seems to be getting worse, not better. She also will not eat or eats very little. I've even resorted to trying some wet dog food, which she will nibble at, but that is about it.
She is already pretty tiny - about 7 lbs at 8 1/2 wks and the vet would really like to see her gain a pound at least before her next check up in a week. Otherwise she is in great spirits, playful, extremely curious and into everything, and drinks plenty of water.
She also hates being in her kennel, especially at night where she can howl and bark consistently for over an hour. Could this additional stress be making the coccidia worse? I'm not sure what another option would be at night?
I think I worry as much about her as I did about my firstborn!
Thanks!!
