Skylie is now 15 months old. She is very sweet and loving , never showed signs of aggression, just moody and wants her way sometimes.
In July I gave her some cake for her birthday, and this was the first time she acted aggressive. She started inhaling it and was glued to her bowl. When I tried to move the bowl she tensed up and growled. Even if I touched her neck, she growled .. all while she was inhaling the cake..
Ever since then, she does this BUT ONLY when it's something she deems as good. For example, she could care less when it's just dog food. It's almost like she becomes possessed and snaps out of it when she is done eating..
Yesterday I had to feed her some pumpkin and rice with her food. She started inhaling her food to the point of almost choking. I put an oven mitt on and reached down to touch her bowl, and she growled and snap at it.
I walked out and was telling my husband, and she hurried and came out the kitchen looking nervous with her head down (she was done eating). When my husband walked towards her, she rolled on her back.. She knew she did something wrong...
Any suggestions on how I should handle this next time? I don't want her to get worse. Food is the only time she has been aggressive, but I'll admit she probably thinks she is the alpha dog sometimes too...
Thank you for reading.. :wavey:
