I haven't been posting in a while due to life being busy. ANYWAY. Tomorrow Joey goes in for the big SNIP SNIP:uhoh::no: I am such a nervous mommy for him. I know he will be fine, but still!!! He LOVES car rides and LOVES the vet... he'll be so sad once he realizes what is happening at the vet. Like i said I know the chances of anything happening are... unlikely.. BUT!! Im nervous :( I booked the weekend off work to be home with him and I brought his crate to the living room so I can sleep on the couch with him incase of anything. My big boy is loosing his man hood<3

Jamm, both you and Joey will be fine. He won't know anything different, and he will be kind of sleepy for a few hours, then you will have your old boy back. I little stitched place which will be gone in a month or so. But Joey's birthday twin and I will be thinking of him tomorrow.

Hang in there!! He'll be fine!

I bawled my eyes out when I dropped Tucker off. He kept trying to leave with me, the vet finally had to take him into the room while I left!

He was only groggy for a day then he was back to his normal self. He didn't even try to get at his stitches.

Joey is such a beauty! Hang in there, he will do fine. Males seem to not mind the surgery at all, but it is a trial to keep them from being too active too soon. Think you will be surprised how tomorrow he is totally back to normal.

Let us know how it goes.

Sending good thoughts and prayers for you and Joey today. Good luck! He should do fine. You will have a hard time keeping him quiet after the first day. They bounce back really fast. Keep us updated on how everything goes....

Thinking of Joey this morning! Hope all goes well (which I am sure it will!)

The worse part is dropping them off then keeping them quiet for a few days. Our vet keeps them overnight so by the time I picked Hank up he acted like nothing happened.
Other than letting him run around the yard like a crazy dog, life was normal from the first day home.

Thank you everyone. I just came back from dropping him off and you're right! that is the hardest part. He was SO excited for the car ride, then the vet was even more fun!! Then when they took him he looked back and was like "wait why isn't mom coming?" Now i get to go to school and worry until 12 when I can go and check up on him! 5pm is going to take FOREVER.

Wakefield was snipped last Thursday and seems to have suffered no ill effects. He was very groggy the first night and slept on a blanket next to my bed. The hardest part was keeping him quiet and away from the incision. Wake came home with the dreaded e-collar - I kept it on for a day and switched him over to a doughnut. The doughnut came off yesterday. He was on Clavamox for a week and I gave him one Acepromazine each morning for 4 days (he's a real live wire). He's back to his same old self - he had a major case of the zoomies last night. I'm glad to be back to our normal routine!

Jamila,

He'll be just fine!!!!!

My last male to be neutered was Oliver. When I picked him up @ the vet office, he was very perky & wanted to say "goodbye" to everyone there. He was definitely not in the "GET ME OUTTA HERE" mode.

When I brought him into the house, he started running up & down the stairs so I had to tether him to me to keep him quiet. Yeah, he was really hurting.

The worst part about the whole episode was that evening when Ollie was lying on his back totally exposed to the world. My hubby was moaning and groaning thinking about if we did that surgery to him ;);)

Joey will still luv ya! :wavey::wavey: Just buy him a few new balls to play with (as if he doesn't have enough already!)

Joey is home!!<3

He is SO drugged. His eyes are all glazed over and he is walking really wobbly. First thing he does when we left the vet was poop in the parking lot, then came home laid on his bed and peed himself :( Poor little guy. It took him a while to lay down, it seems he is in pain. He's now laying down beside me passed out.

Glad everything with his surgery went well, he'll be more like himself tomorrow once all the anethesia has worn off. I hope you don't have too much trouble trying to keep him quiet.

Them seem to recover and heal very quickly thank goodness.

Take advantage of this time to spoil him.

awwweee :( Your such a good Mommy Jam! I know how those big golden eyes of Joeys are probably making you sad. The best thing he can do right now, tonight, is to sleep. As long as he knows your right next to him he'll feel safe and will rest. Its a good night to curl up in bed and study or since its Friday maybe you could watch a movie ;)
Now... me being an older Mom, that sounds like a perfect idea lol For you? maybe ...not so good.

Tomorrow he will be much much better. And by the third day keeping him quiet will be quite the challenge.
