O.K. I have just scrapped off old paint and some sealer on my cinder block basement wall. What is safe to put on there to seal it up? I have been reading the Warnings on Drylok which is recommended and it scares me because of the C word. I was thinking of maybe using Kilz which doesn't have as much to worry about but everything scares me. I worry more for Gunner than for me....anyone have any experience with this stuff???

Behr makes a low voc basement and masonry paint. I haven't used it myself but it should be much better for you and gunner to be around. Good luck!

Well, I found a primer that is environmental safe! It's called Zinsser. I really didn't need a waterproof type paint. Just something to cover some old mildew stains, etc. I put one coat on and it will need at least one more so waiting for it to dry.

I did look at Behr but it had more than I need so tried to find something safe and ACO had this.
