I take my 2 yr to lake erie to swim just about every other day in the summer. he is great at swimming and can pretty much bring back any and everything i throw. However, the beach i take him to doesnt allow for ppl to swim, so he is not used to ppl swimming with him.. when i do go in the water with him.. i will get to about my waist deep and everything is fine. the moment i start to lower myself in the water he swims directly for me and my head.. Its not east swimming with a dog clawing and scratching at u and ur head, not to mention very unsafe.. i feel like he is in a panic that i dont know how to swim or something. taking suggestions!

Buckskin was very good at trying to drown me too! For a while my husband and I used large (truck) inner tubes for our recreational swims. Bucky got used to not being able to reach our flesh and slowly stopped trying to sink us in the pool. Good luck!
