I bathe my Murphy every week, but somehow he always ends up with a doggy odor within a day. That is until I tried Fresh n' Clean. So far, that scent has been hanging around for 5 days. Unfortunately, I do not like the scent. It is strong and smells like flea shampoo to me. Also, it seems to make him itchy.

Before this I was using Veterinary formula, which made his fur so soft , and it did not cause any problems. But, it does not retain a nice scent on Murphy. He will go out for a fast walk and come in all sweaty smelling.
I know that the smell is not a health problem, ears, breath or anal glands. He is perfectly fine. I think that there is a possibility that he is having a drop or two of exitement urine in his kennel and rolling in it. sometimes I think that he may do it on purpose to get rid of the clean smell.:banghead:.
If I could just find something that keeps him smelling fresh but still keeps his skin and fur conditioned that would be great. Any suggestions?

We use Hydrosurge. They have a lot of different formulas. Right now we have the mango peach shampoo/conditioner and it smells great. The scent lasts for about a week on our dogs. It works great, too. We get it at Wal-Mart for $6 a bottle. I actually find that it takes much less shampoo to totally lather up than other shampoos we have tried and the bottle lasts a lot longer than other brands.

Here is their web site that shows all of the different shampoos and conditioners they have:

Wow, how would you choose just one? I would have to bathe my dogs daily to find out what smell I like the best!

The last time DH went shopping without me, I asked him to pick up some dog shampoo since we were running low. He called me from Wal-Mart and asked me which one I wanted and I had him read them all off to me. There had to have been about 20 of them. I had to have him repeat some of them because I couldn't remember them all. I guess he was getting some pretty funny looks from people in the pet section! :bowl:

Well, I guess I'll have to head to Walmart tomorrow before class and give the kids a bath after we work out. They need it anyway!

Tonight is bath night here! I rally, really love the mango-peach formula. It's the green one. The dogs smell like a tropical fruit basket for a week after!

Try diluting the shampoo with vinegar instead of water if doggie smell is an issue. As for scents, the best bet is to get a conditioner spray with your fav smell and spray the coat after they've dried. I have yet to find a good shampoo/conditioner that leaves a lot of perfume in the coat, but at work we have 4-5 scents to choose from...
