What neck donuts do you use so your female cannot reach her belly after surgery? Thanks!

Was actually looking at Amazon this morning and saw these inflatable‘s but many of the reviews say they were still able to get to their bellies? Thanks for the T-shirt idea never heard of that I love it just a small T-shirt?

Probably a man's small size will work.

If your girl leaves her incision alone, the t-shirt should be fine.

I found when my guys and my girl were spayed/neutered, what bothered them the most was the areas where they were shaved. My current boy got butchered, he had nicks and a lot of razor burn. His neuter didn't bother him at all and he never bothered the incision but he was raw from being shaved. I put some generic antibiotic ointment on him and it really helped.

but very first time you see her lick or get interested, and at night when you are asleep or not watching her in the day, be sure to put a cone or donut on her because it only takes a minute to find yourself with an open incision and that can kill her. 10 days isn't that long...

I used this with great results..despite my vet's misgivings about the floppiness..it was perfect. (Border Collie/Lab mix and very active)

This little gal (a gift from a friend) is due here later this week and when it's time, I will try it on her as well..If she needs it..I also have a few traditional cones.

Your vet will send you home with a cone (or they should). In a cone, they can lie down more easily - the donut means they can't put their head down. I've used both. I had a dog who was terrified to move with a cone on, so she got a donut after her cancer surgery. My current dog has no issues wearing a cone. She goes banging around the house with it on. She pouts when it first goes on, but she was one who licked her incision and her IV spot after her spay, so there was no choice. Like Prism said, it's just 10 days or so before the incision is healed up. It's for their own good to keep them from licking at it.

I saw something recently where people put pool noodles around their dogs collar. I’ve not applied it and current puppy is still too young for her spay.
