My 5 month old Golden Retriever is producing less poop then before.
He use to poop so much, now when he poops he produces around 6inch in length poop is is softer but still has shape.
I can pick it up.
Also he's poop is thinner not pencil thin but not as giant as it was before?
He was on Natural Balance Lamb and Brown rice now he's on fromm 4-star duck/sweet potato dry dog.
This is his 8th day of transitioning his old and new dog food together.

1-3 days 25 percent
4-6 40 percent
6-8 65 percent

Am I going to fast transitioning his new food and his old food, and is this normal?
should I just transition him back to his old dog food

I'll be bringing him to the vet today just want to know what to expect

Different foods will provide different poops, depending on how well the dog digests the food. The better they digest, the less waste (poop) they produce. It's a win-win situation! :)
