Does anyone have any tips on how to stop a 6 mos Golden puppy from bitting? She grew out of her sharp puppy teeth but her bite it’s hard now. She constantly nips and bites people’s legs, hands etc.. i need her to stop doing this. I bought her teething toys, she has tons of regular toys, tell her to stop, anything that comes to mind but she just won’t stop.. she knows what she is doing by her face I can tell. It seems like it’s just play thing for her.. ? help!!!!

She's too old to still be play biting people. This is something that needs to be fixed quickly at this point which means you should contact a dog behaviorist, make an appointment as soon as you can and make sure that everyone in your house attends the sessions and are all consistent and rigid about following the behaviorist's instructions.

Most importantly, you need to reframe her relationship to people with training. Right now she views people as playmates as if they are other puppies. You can change this by making a routine of training games and making her work for everything. Google "nothing in life is free dog training" and read up on it. For instance, she gets her breakfast after she's done a series of sit, down, stay etc. Be consistent and eventually she'll start to see that there are more interesting things to do with people rather than play bite them. Also, what is she currently getting for exercise?

For smaller puppies some people recommend curling the puppy's lip in so that the puppy ends up applying the pressure to their own skin and hopefully learns bite inhibition that way. I didn't have to try that personally but maybe someone who knows more about that technique can more fully explain it.
