Murphy's 1st accidental swim

Well I took Murphy over to a friends house today, and while we were outside he decided he wanted a drink out of their small 2' deep fish pond. He leaned a little too far however and fell in face first, lol. It scared me to death but before I could even react he started paddling and was right back up to the surface. Needless to say he had to have a bath tonight because he stunk like old pond water. I swear this pup is going to give me my first gray hair at 28.

Awww! I had a similar experience with my bridge dog, Cody. It was winter and I was at the local state park with my dad and Cody saw an animal out on the frozen lake and bolted after it. The ice cracked and Cody fell under. I was just a little girl at the time, so I stood there in horror as my dad ran onto the lake, jumped in, and was under the ice for what seemed like forever before I saw Cody's little head pop up and my dad carry him out. Terrifying experience!
haha JP did that too and it scared me to death! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who is going to get gray hair at 28 because of their puppy!! :0)
Remember goldens have webbed feet swimming is natural though not all like it.

My old lab Shadow had a similar first experience. She was whelped in Oct, and all winter long would run and play in puddles. Well Easter was in March, and we were having dinner at DH's grand mothers. She had a pond. So we took the dogs for a walk through the woods, and they got a bit muddy so we decided to let them wade in the pond to rinse their feet (it was still pretty cool out) Well my golden went in on the edge by herself, but Shadow needed coaxing??? So DH picks up a stick, with the intention of tossing it to the edge. Well the wind gets it, takes it further (DH threw harder than intended too) and it goes out in the pond. Shadow does not miss a beat, she takes off running and LAUNCHES herself (6 months old) off the bank into the water...AND SINKS!!!!!!

I started CRACKING up DH is thinking he has to dive in and rescue and do mouth to mouth. Then up comes Shadow, first one paw then the other, she swims out gets the stick brings it back looks at DH and says "throw it again!" The rest they say is history. LOL

Once it turns out okay, I'll bet it was funny to see puppy 'tip over' and fall in. I seem to remember washing off pond water too. Stinking up the car all the way home.

Glad you're little guy is okay!

In retrospect it's hilarious! Now that mommy knows all is well of course. I had to febreze my truck after he rode in it because it stunk so bad, lol.
lol, too cute. One of my foster dogs walked out the back door of a friends house, kept walking and walked right off the edge of the pool and fell in, SURPRISE!
