This site is still blocked from work, so it's been awhile since I've been onnline, but MISSED it soo much, especially after gettting to meet so many great folks at the new england meet-up!
A little bit of news... Simon got picked to do a photo shoot for the 2010 Kurgo Catalog! There was an ad to send in a photo or two to have your dog considered... I sent two DockDogs pics and a cute close-up that shows off his goofyness, and they chose HIM!
Yesterday was the shoot, and he got to model their brand new cargo-net barrier (In a beautiful Toyota Venza!) I was a very proud mama!
After that, they asked if he liked frisbees at all. Uh oh.. they said the magic "F"-word... Simon started to go crazy just at the word. They have a toy called the "wing-it" (similar to a chuck-it, but it flings small soft rubber discs).
They spent about 1/2 hour shooting Simon, who happily chased, retrieved, slobbered over, and just looked generally THRILLED to be playing with this wonderful toy!
I guess they had done a shoot already today with another dog, but they weren't very happy with the results. The photographer was REALLY happy with the shots from Simon, who had started to slow WAY down by the end of the shoot, and began looking for water and/or mud puddles to flop into, LOL!
When we were done, Simon gathered up two discs, trotted over to his water bowl, and FLOPPED down, happily! They did another impromptu shoot by placing the wing-it throwy-thing down in front of the discs, with a very happy-looking, EXHAUSTED Simon. A HUGE smile across his face. They were saying it would be a good shot for the end of the catalog!
We got lots of Kurgo products in exchange, I'm thrilled to have one of their hammocks- it drapes across the back seat of a car and hangs over the back of the front seats to protect the car from dog hair.. and looks like a hammock (hence the name).
Ok... that's it.. it was a blast- and be checking out the Kurgo 2010 Spring catalog for a goofy golden with the longest tongue you've ever seen...:wavey:
