Maybe PointGold knows someone in MI that does rescue? I'm not sure if Sophie, Sadie's Mom is in MI or not. I can't remember.

This is hard to know. I don't know if I could talk my dh into another dog but Lucy isn't that far from me; about 45 minutes. It's hard to see her in that crate not looking happy. What is the time frame on a kill shelter? Heart wrenching!

I wonder if anyone contacted GRRoM (Golden Retriever Rescue of MI)? They might be VERY interested in that. I can contact the person I have spoken with. Not sure the protocol.

She must have been added to Petfinder in the last few days, as I check the listings for golden retrievers in Michigan pretty regularly. I don't know how long Genesee County keeps dogs - I would think she would be safe as long as space is available. Right now they only have 14 dogs listed on Petfinder. No way to know how many aren't listed. But they sure don't make it easy do they: "You must be a resident of Genesee County to purchase an adult dog from the shelter."

I had emld. GRROm and Great Lakes and they both got back to me-how nice they are.
Karen from GRROM called and this sweetheart has been adopted, but I did ask GRROM will the shelter call her if Lucy is returned?

I just called - They adopted her yesterday.

Shoot, I was going to go see her after work.

The bummer is; when I asked for information on LUCY they asked what cage number is she?....They're only referred to by a number!

What a morning. When I read the post I thought all morning about getting this little one. Now that she's gone (adopted), I'm bummed! But, I hope that she has gone to a good home. Do they interview people who adopt to make sure that she'll be treated okay?

Glad she found a home. I like to try to think most people get dogs for the right reason. She will be a sweet addition to someones family.
