Our pup Maevis is now five and-a-half months old. She has been very good, although when we go outside she continues to try to eat everything that is not nailed down. Acorns, in particular, seem to be a favorite of hers. These are a few pictures that we took this weekend.

She is absolutely gorgeous! I bet she is a lot of fun at this age. The eating everything will pass of course. It never seems like it when you are going through it! What a charmer she is. Enjoy her....:)

She is a beauty! Our pups are the same age!

How do you get your grass so nice? I'm a new home owner and trying to educate myself on nice lawns.

On behalf of Maevis, thanks for the compliments. And I thank everyone for the grass compliments. We are lucky to have an underground sprinkler system, which allows us to keep the lawn well watered. I also use lawn fertilizer every couple of months. Because of the sprinklers, we are able to make sure it gets well watered in before letting Maevis onto the grass after application. Just to be safe though, we wait several days after applying fertilizer before she gets to play on the grass. In the interim, we give her extra walks and make sure she has play dates in the yards of her other neighborhood friends.

Maevis is georgous! My Harley is 4.5 mths and his hair is still very 'puppy' like - I hope Harley's hair gets as beautiful as Maevis' is when he's 5.5 mths!

Is that an underground fence for Maevis? How is he doing on it? We are considering that for Harley once he gets older.

Yes, we are in the process of training Maevis on the electric fence--which are the flags you see in the background. She has been doing very well in her training--she has never run through and only a few "zaps." Once she can stop eating acorns long enough to enjoy being outside, I think the fence will be a great thing for her. I definitely recommend it.

What a cutie -- and naturally photogenic, too!
Our breeder happens to live next door to a professional pet photographer who regularly photographs the pups as she is raising them. In turn, both he and she use the photos for promotional purposes, and he makes some available for sale to the new owners. (Others they simply sent to us to keep us updated on the pups' progress.) Therefore, Maevis has grown up being photographed and seems to love it. Plus, we have some great shots of her as she grew from Day 1 until we got her.
