I know that the experts will weigh in....

In my novice opinion, they only have clearances on the male Johnny that they use a stud to all of their bitches. The other dogs were on k9 data but no clearances were provided. They bred Tinkerbell last year before the age of two.

At the top of the forum is the Puppy Buyers Fact checker for some good information on what to look for in a good breeder. Also check with the GRCA website http://grca.org/ for the puppy referral section.

Hi Vicky and welcome to the GRF! :wavey:

I am not sure what to make out of Lucky Lady Farms. I see all the clearances listed in the OFA database on Jonny but his CERF (eyes) should be done every year and it appears they have not been done since 2007. Now it is possible that they have had them done and not sent in the report to CERF but this never makes sense to me as it only costs about $10 to resubmit yearly.
As for the females I see CERF and Hearts listed but no hips and/or elbows. Now it appears all these dogs may have been imported from overseas and it is possible these clearances were done prior to them coming into the US. The only way to know is discuss it with the breeder and you must insist on seeing the actual paperwork. If they say they do not have them I would recommend going elsewhere.

Good luck in your search no matter where you decide to go.

Thank you for the advice. I'm going to continue looking around a bit more. I'm going to be out of the country for 2 weeks in the new year, so I don't actually want a pup until May, after I return. I'm just starting my research now, so I will know where to go for a reputable breeder. Ambika, your golden girls are beautiful.
