I am new to this site. My husband and I recently lost our 1st golden retriever. We have done research looking for breeders in our area. We are located about 20 minutes outside Philadelphia. We have found several breeders but have seen some reviews are are a little afraid to pursue them. Can anyone recommend a good breeder. If you hae had a bad experience with a breeder we would apprecaite those too so we can avoid any problems. We are willing to travel to Jersey and surrounding areas, but would prefer not to travel over 2 hours. Thanks so much!!!

Edecombe (Janice Provenzano) is a good breeder. There is a dog on this forum from her - Harley. His owner will have the contact information. His S/N is WagonDog. Best wishes.

Try getting a puppy referral from your local GR Club (link below). Make sure that sire and dam have OFA clearances on elbows & hips, CERF for eyes, and cardiologist clearance from a veterinary specialist. They should also be active in conformation, agility, or obedience.

I'm sure others will have specific recommendations for you.
Best of luck in your quest for a puppy. I'm sorry for your loss of your beloved golden.
