I just recently started looking for my new golden puppy...I had no idea I'd be this picky! ;P

I saw the thread on Indian Knoll Kennels--it wasn't too favorable. I am wondering if anyone else knows of any good/bad experiences with this kennel as they just recently had a litter that is almost ready to adopt. I have not spoken with them yet, only left a message. What are some key questions that I should ask?

If anyone knows of any reputable upcoming litters in IL IN MI or WI please let me know! I am so anxious to get my puppy. I have loved and had golden retrievers--(parents house) since I was 11. I am finally ready to get my own and couldn't be more excited. I know she's out there! :) :crossfing

The best place to look starts here www.grca.org Ead all the stuff on looking for a puppy/ breeder. You can go to the listing of golden clubs in your area, or areas you wouldnt mind driving to. There will be a person listed on the web site that is a puppy referal person. They will send you to a good, responsible, ethical breeder. Don't go on "advise from other people" Get the right names to start with!!

Good luck!

My Carmella was from Indian Knoll.... and she was the most wonderful companion I have ever had. She lived to be 14.5 years old and was in pretty fabulous shape up until her last couple of weeks. Some arthritis, but besides that, no senility, grumpiness, nothing. She never had personality issues and was friendly with everyone.

That said, she did have a melanoma on her paw when she was 5, and if I hadn't caught it early on, that could have been a problem. But gosh she was an amazing dog. I wish I could have her all over again.

Anyhow, that was over 14 years ago. I do not know how the kennel has changed since then, I can only give you my experience.

Good luck in your search!
