Logan Smith

Logan and I trained today while a landscaping crew smiled and watched. One told me Logan was the most beautiful and well-behaved Golden he has ever seen. Awwww! Logan was not participating in shenanigans at the moment. 😅

After that we took a two mile walk in the woods.

In a couple of hours we are heading to Cashiers, NC. Logan will love that because the lows are still getting down in the lower 40s up there. He will get to hike. Tomorrow we are driving to Fletcher, NC (about an hour from our mountain place) and going to do one leg of a BN just for practice.

Logan did a bumper round yesterday at a show in Fletcher, NC. He earned a 198.5 in BN. It was good practice for him and for me. I didn’t get anyone to take photos or record it. I didn’t take a photo with the judge because there was a lively Standard Poodle I wanted to get Logan away from. Lol Plus, we already have the title. I was told the Poodle got in trouble with the judge when the judge got around to it/ribbon. At least he or she qualified. Haha

We walked 3.3 miles this morning and climbed 37 flights. It made me a little tired, but didn’t faze Logan. 😜

There were plenty of people around at the park and recreation center and Logan so loves seeing everyone and being included.

Here’s a throwback photo of Luke when he was four years old. My sister, Carla, took this photo as she was puppy sitting Luke. I can’t remember where I was.

Logan and I walked four miles this morning and climbed 30 flights. We added another mile to it this evening.

Our hair stays wavy here because Cashiers is a temperate rain forest and gets 80+” of rain a year. It sure is beautiful and lush though.

Tomorrow we have a two hour drive to our private lesson. Luckily, she scheduled this week’s at 2:30, so we don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn. After our lesson, we will head back to Columbia for a bit. It will be warm, but Logan has a swimming pool there. Then we’ll head back to the mountains in about a week and a half.

I took the grands to the zoo this morning and they enjoyed. Brian (hubby) walked Logan three miles early — around 7:00 a.m. When I got home I took him another 1.75 miles. He’s done I’m sure. He’s taking a break from training today.

Brian took Logan for a three mile walk at 6:30 a.m. At 11:00, I took him to Camden for hunt test training. We worked on casting and Loan did very well. When I brought him home, I decided instead of the usual formal bath/blow dry I would let him jump in the pool and play. Somewhere in the middle I put a little shampoo and conditioner on him, but not a normal full bath job because we go right back to field training on Tuesday. I just wanted to get the pond stench off.

Then we walked down to the pond/watershed area to let Logan air dry some. It’s warming up here. I prefer a blow dry so his hair won’t be wavy, but he’ll be getting a full one of those on Tuesday. I walked him by the tennis courts and he found two and played a bit. We got back home and he still wanted to play fetch some. Endless energy. He is now zonked.
