I've kept a thread over in the Golden Retriever Puppies up to One Year section until today because Logan is now a year old! We'll update this thread with photos of Logan's adventures.

Happy birthday to my sweet boy. It took him a second to warm up to the silly misshapen hat.

It is amazing how busy we can get. Cheyenne, my therapy dog, got sick this weekend so I had to cancel a USO visit, a hospital visit, the Ronald McDonald house, and one of our local retirement homes. She does all this on weekends since her dad works full-time during the week.

Logan will enjoy the downtime.

I’m sorry Cheyenne has been sick. I hope she’s feeling better!

I‘m hoping Logan can do some visits like these when he’s a bit older and I’m not running him all over creation for competition stuff.

Yes, therapy work is very rewarding. We don't get any ribbons, but you do get lots of smiles.

Thank you for all the posts about Logan. We are living our obedience and field trials through you and Logan. :)

Today we trained for about 15 minutes, played, took a nice walk, rested, and played some more. A quick nap now before recital.

It’s granddaughter Charlotte’s 8th birthday.

Logan had a nice walk with his daddy this morning. Brian woke up and said he wanted to take Logan a walk first thing. I barely had my eyes open and off they went for 2.5 miles. I’ve played fetch with him and a little tug with his hedgehog. We leave at 2:15 to head to Spartanburg for our private obedience lesson with Jane. She gave us homework the last time (we go every two weeks), so we’ll see if we’ve improved. I think I have the footwork down for the way she told me to do about turns. We’ve also been working on her way of getting straighter fronts and on finishes both ways. Logan seems to do those both equally well. She told me how she wanted me doing figure eights and at our workshop we attended I learned a few more tips on body cues. I’ll probably get my feet tangled and fall on my face. :ROFLMAO:

Oh, and I’ve been heeling with a metronome when I heel on my own. That is very helpful.

Logan and I had two hour long classes today in Spartanburg. It’s crazy how much we get done.

We worked on heeling, command discrimination, dumbbell retrieves— both on the flat and over a jump, go outs, worked with our stand board, dumbbell holds, glove holds and glove tossing/marking/retrieving. I’m surprised Logan hasn’t said, “I quit!” We had a private lesson yesterday that lasted an hour and a half. Tomorrow is field training, but Logan loves it and is very pleased to be outdoors and retrieving ducks.

Before leaving Columbia for classes, Logan had a 2.3 mile walk and when we got home we played outside for a while. He loves that. He’s zonked now and I am already in my pajamas.

Friday he gets to do whatever the heck he wants all day.

Some photos from playtime today. Logan needs a spa day. He’ll get that tomorrow.

Logan started field training with an awesome water triple. He’s going longer distances these days. These photos are from field and his bath after.

A few more from Kiawah. We passed on the beach and the Portuguese Man of War thing they have going on currently.

On our screened porch — it’s a squirrel and deer viewing bonanza for Logan:

The people before us put out a bit of artificial turf in the back. We’ve never had that, but it’s growing on us. This isn’t the best photo of the kids, but Logan just loves when they visit. They include him like he’s one of them. Lol

It rained lightly on us at the beginning of our walk, but down-poured on us from about mid-way forward. Logan loved it. We were supposed to go to agility today, but it was weather canceled. I doubt Logan minds that either because he gets a more laid back day. We don’t go back to obedience until June 7th because there’s a slight break between classes. We’ll keep training on our own, of course.

I decided to only sign Logan up for Open/Utility and not the advanced foundations this time. There’s a lot of overlap and two hours is too much. Our next private class won’t be until the 30th.

Could you possibly will the rain to move westwards towards Oregon, pleaseee...? 😭 We are baking and dying in the heat here. I'm having to get up at 4.30am just to beat this and I'm afraid of what proper summer will bring us.. my wonderful neighbours here keeps telling me to get prepared that we are going to get 100°F (40°C)+ 🥵 and we are already wilting away in the 90°F (33°C)..

I’m sorry! This rain was much needed here. We get hot and muggy, but it usually starts really swooping in in June, July, and August. It’s the combo of the heat and the humidity that gets so bad. I will try to will some rain your way.

Thank you - I know this is so silly 🙏🏽😊 It really does seem to be hotter for longer here than in Europe. Back in France, we are still in spring weather - lots of rain and around 65°F (20°C). I have been getting lots of envy checking our security cameras and seeing the rain in our garden.. It is still forecasted to be bad for us this summer and there will be potentially drought and some water restrictions like last year... I think skipping last summer for the Arctic is coming back big time for me this year!

Here we are at the end of agility class today. I didn’t know Alison was recording us. Don’t look at me too hard because I had been rained on. It affected my beauty much more than Logan’s. :ROFLMAO: Logan earned an A+ in agility today. He was into it our entire class and wasn’t missing a beat really. I messed up several times. I earned a B. Lol
