No you can’t drown them but we squish them
DEAD 💀 30 years ago a neighbor brought dog home from the pound infested. I told her to get the dog to a groomer ASAP ( as they were not willing to do what it takes to rid the poor dog of all the ticks 🤮) I also said how serious it was if they start dropping.
Well my fears were realized - our immediate neighborhood became INFESTED We spent thousands to clear our home. Finally tented the house for termites. I hope no one here ever has to go through this horror😱. Everyone in the family would get a tick or two 😬 BTW. Their eggs look like orange brown clumps of tiny termite droppings. Very similar to what old dried latex foam looks like. I found these between book pages and cracks in the deck. A real nightmare
Yikes! I didn’t know that could happen either. That sounds even worse than when the kids brought home head lice from school. :ROFLMAO:

We had such a nice private lesson in obedience today. It was an hour lesson, but we were there two hours all together. We didn’t work Logan all that time — she worked me for half of it. Lolol

I am extremely happy she wants us to sign up for Open class when the new class series begins on the 15th of March. In the meantime, I’m going to go ahead and do BN trials and then, hopefully, soon after CD trials.

For today, she said our heeling looks great. She said the only error she saw in any of it was on our about turn where I am STILL doing my leg funky on the turn and it makes Logan swing out a little bit. She said she wished I could have been standing on the side watching us, if it were possible, because she said Logan is just right there with me and has the sweetest expression on his face. She said our figure eights are the best and just perfect.

We worked on everything in Beginner Novice, including a pre-ring entry routine and how to exit properly. After we finished all of that, we went into another ring and she started helping me teach the beginnings of drop on recall. I just love these instructors.

Another great plus to all this traveling I’m doing with Logan is all the audiobooks I’m getting in while traveling. I’ve always been a big reader and in the last few years have really slacked off because I never have time. It dawned on me I could be listening while in the car, so that’s what I’m doing. I think I’m up to nine books so far this year.

Here we are at the end of agility class today. I didn’t know Alison was recording us. Don’t look at me too hard because I had been rained on. It affected my beauty much more than Logan’s. :ROFLMAO: Logan earned an A+ in agility today. He was into it our entire class and wasn’t missing a beat really. I messed up several times. I earned a B. Lol

Today at field we worked on all water retrieves and casting. We were sending Logan over a small pond, up onto a bank, and then into a larger pond. Cara was stopping him if he tried to cheat by running the bank. We worked on back right, back left, and overs. We also worked him completely off leash so he could practice steadiness. Logan does great at staying put when the winger goes off.

In these two photos, he is watching Cara load the wingers.

Logan has since had a spa day and is now zonked.

Logan had a very chill Saturday with zero training. Today we went on a 3.5 mile walk downtown and at the University. I also trained him just a bit on Main Street, the Capitol, and the University. We did a bit of heeling position, then normal pace with about turns, fronts, find heel, and attention. I wish I had gotten a photo of the Golden Retriever who stalked us around the State House grounds. It looked to be about 7 to 9 months old. They followed us around the entire building. I kept moving Logan along when they got too close because I could tell they wanted their dog to meet Logan. It was cute and lunging on its harness. Between that, people, and a crazy amount of squirrels, we had pretty good distractions. I think they finally figured out I was training and not wanting to meet & greet.

At the University we found an azalea wreath on a fence post outside a historic church. We used it for a photoshoot and then put it back in case someone had left it there for a reason. Now it’s magical. 😅

Here’s tick murder:

Ticks are terrible here. Griffin had one last month, Gizmo tested positive for anaplasmosis and my neighbor was very sick with that last summer.

We keep a shot glass filled with olive oil on the window sill. It's so good to see their little legs moving as they slowly sink and die.

I'm offering nesting material to the local mice, I hope it works. (The tubes easy to make too)

Thank you! I will check that out and try the olive oil idea. The fire is a bit sadistic.

Good morning from Logan. We went on an early morning walk — it’s much cooler here today. I’m glad because it’s too early for 80 degrees. We also played fetch on the very pollen-y tennis courts. Next, we are heading to Wellford, SC for competition obedience. It’s our private lesson, but I believe today we will be joined by a Brittany Spaniel. I can’t remember his or her name — or gender, obviously. Haha
