I can't imagine Triton looking skinny at all!

Do you have any photos?

Can you feel the ribs easily?

This is really bad for their health.
Can we see pics? Sounds a little heavy :).
Those are some very BIG boys. I have no reference point since they are both very tall. The only advice I can give you is you should be able to feel the ribs easily under the skin and see a waist from above. If you can't do all three it is time to get some unsalted canned green beans to substitute for some of their food and try to get them some more exercise time (off leash if feasible). Swimming would be great too.

at 90lbs for Triton vet said he like to see him little heavier cause ribs showing to much

Loag can jump up and off hay bails by himself
Were they actually weighed, and measured? It's hard to tell from pics, but they do not look that large.
I weighed my self 3 times 198lbs then picked up Logan total 317lbs=119lbs
Triton 307lbs=109lbs
I,ll hit vet,s scale tomorrow

they will be at Milton meet

How did you measure their heights?
They both have good "tuck up" but it is so hard to tell with out putting hands on a dog and feeling the waist and ribs. It is rare to have a vet tell you to put some weight on a dog though. A goldens coat can hide a lot though. Looking at my Caue he looks much heavier than my Oakly. Both are the same height but Oakly has 5-10 lbs on Caue. Oakly could stand to loose five of those pounds (we are working on it)
long time ago when they walked by door put finger at top of back touched door then measured

whats proper way

Do you have pictures of them standing by someone? They just don't look oversized in the outdoor photos. And as was mentioned, there is still "tuck-up"... they'd have to be huge dogs to weigh that much and still appear fit, which they both do.

Agreed, they do not look that big at all from the outdoor photos -- now granted there is not much to measure them against for relativity but still -- they looked to be in OK shape.
Are you sure your scale is not in kilos?????? That would be about right!
It is very easy to measure height incorrectly if you don't know what you're doing. To be honest I have NEVER seen a legit 29" golden.

If the scale was in kilos, 119kg would be 261 pounds!! I don't think that's right.

My parents dog, Skoker weighs 92 pounds and you can easily feel his ribs... he runs/walks close to 10 kilometers a day in the summer, in addition to around 30 minutes of swimming and endless games of fetch. He isn't any taller than any other golden I've seen - some dogs just hide it better than others.

Let us know what the vet scale says tomorrow! :)
if it was kg it would be 255lbs, then I would have problem

heres pic at 8 half months on picnic table

Is the date on that picture correct? If so, it's two years old and may not be that helpful. If that's what your dog looks like now, he's probably not overweight. He sure looks like a big boy though!!
OOPS yeah you're right, I had the kilos vs lbs backwards! Well it was a nice thought :)
The photo of the 8 month old dog, he doesn't look all that big there either. Do you have a picture of them standing next to a human?
You need an expert's opinion in real life!!
Best of luck,

I agree that the hair can hide a lot. Danny outweighs Jasper by a little over 20 lbs. But when they are standing side by side, other than the fact that Danny is taller, they look like they are the same size.

29 inches is really tall for a golden. I thought Danny was tall at almost 26 inches. He weighs 77 lbs.
ummm....
my 26 inch tall, fairly heavy boned boy weighs 80 pounds.....

My 26" Boy is 78 lbs, we usually try to keep him around 75 lbs. It will be interesting to see how much they weigh at the vets.
