Hi everyone, it's been a while since i've given an update on my golden girl!
She is 1 year and 4 months on wednesday.
She hasn't had any more serious heath problems thank goodness! But she has become more sensitive when others are sick or hurt.

If I hurt, say a finger and i get upset, she will come over to me, and lick the actual finger I hurt.

Dan's brother came to stay at our house when he found out he had diabetes, and Keira took a turn for the worse! i thought she was getting ill again, we took her in for blood work, x-rays, stool samples, urine tests, you name it we did it. EVERYTHING came back 100% normal
But when she was here, around him, she could hardly walk, wouldn't eat, couldn't pick her up, woudn't play...it was awful!
Then he left, and the day, more like hour after he left....she was fine. Normal, running, eating, playing, jumping, rolling, kissing...back to my sweet little Keira?!?

She is very little, she's approx 40lbs (last time she was at the vet, haven't weighed her recently, but she looks and feels the same to me)
Everyone loves her! She doesn't have a mean bone in her!
When other dogs come around that she doesn't know she drops to the ground and lets them sniff her...it's actually kind of funny!

She's becoming a little bit of a guard dog too...she sits and watches out our back window, if she sees anyone walk by...she gives a little bark or growls until they are past the house. our house faces a school, so we have people walking by all the time lol
However, when it comes to the kids going to school, she just watches them every morning! She loves seeing the kids! lmao

I think the last thing I wanted to tell everyone about, which i'm so proud of her for! Is I've been testing her off leash, little bits at a time. I want her to be able to come out with us when we're washing the car, or doing yard work, or anything outside without holding her leash with one hand! So we've started letting her out for a pee and using comands to tell her what to do, and when to do it! She listens so good! She actually will pee, then look at me when she's done for her next command. And the weird thing is, I don't need to use treats! Just praise is good enough for her! I knew she was ready to start trying this because we'd take her out back with is partially fenced and she listened really well to us!
We did some training over at the MIL's house yesterday...her busy street isnt' so busy right now b/c it's under construction...so i walked up and dow the drive way off leash with her (pretty long drive way too. I think keira knew something was weird b/c she didn't have a leash on, so she probably felt insecure. So we walked slowly and nicely and she kept looking right up at me! (much different then when she's on a leash!) We did this several times and she did great!
I wouldn't say she's ready to go for any long walks off leash or anything yet, but at least i know she'll listen to me and not ignore me!

Anyways, sorry that was so long....just thought it's a milestone for her, and i'm proud of her. And I know many of you gave her so much support while she was so sick, and all the prayers really helped!

thanks again!

(sorry for the bad picture, this was taken from my cell phone, I'll upload more from my camera soon!)

It's wonderful to read your update about Keira, and I'm glad she is doing so well. I love how her front paws are crossed in the photo!
