The vet hasn't cultured this and it's been going on for two months? I'd be looking for a new vet!!!! I sure hope this clears up soon for your pupper.
It's so frustrating!
He has been on the Venison and Potato diet trial almost 8 weeks, and on antibiotics all that time. Keflex for six weeks and now Clindomycin. And we still have staph under the armpits and groin area. I am so ready to figure this allergy thing out. 
On a good note, there is very little scratching. And no other health problems that I'm aware of.
Next step if the Clindomycin doesn't work, cultures of the infected areas.
