Hello :wavey:

I am wondering if Emma is old enough to wear a backpack for when we go on longer walks/hikes. I would like to buy her one and have her carry some water & food along with for us but am not sure if she is old enough? She is a little over 1 year old right now.

Also how much is an appropriate weight for her to carry? I don't want it to be too light or heavy. She weighs about 70lbs.

Thanks for anyone who can answer this question :)

I would think she would be fine with a pack with 4 or 5 pounds of weight. (a couple of quarts of water) You might start a little lighter to get her used to the pack.

We got maple a smaller backpack when she was six months or so and she just wore it empty and didnt mind it at all she grew out of it before she was old enuff to have anything in it and I must admit I havnt gotten her a new one so she goes without, I guess I know what I need next trip to the city, I sort of forgot about it. The vet told us no weight in it untill they are over a year in age.
