Hi, I have a 3.5 month old Male golden. He weighs about 37 lbs. He has large feet and lots of loose skin. He is lean and I can easily feel his ribs. I know he will be a big guy as his dad was 80 lbs and his mom was 60lbs. I just switched him from Farmina N&D puppy food he was raised on, to Orijen adult dog food. He gets 1 cup at breakfast, 1 cup at supper, and 1 cup through the day as treats. He gets 3 walks a day, 15 min in morning, 1/2 hr at lunch and 1 hr in the evening. He gets playtime throughout the day, between long naps. He goes to puppy socialization class once a week and puppy daycare once a week.
I know growth plates are important and I'm worried his is growing too fast. Thoughts?

I can confirm that Orijen adult is not appropriate for a puppy, however, they do have a puppy line designed for growing puppies that I would look into.

Only Purina, Hills and Royal Canin do feeding and nutritional trials including breeding colonies and so for growth and reproduction those are ones I trust. I use all life stages pro plan. Over an hour walk for a puppy seems like a lot to me especially with joints still forming. I don’t recommend more than 30 min total walking per day and emphasize mental stimulation as equally important at this stage. I hope that is helpful.
