Hi,

I just got my brand new golden retriever puppy two weeks ago and I'm interested in feeding her raw. She is my first golden retriever and even though I have had other dogs before this would be the first time I have tried feeding a dog a raw diet. I wouldn't prepare the food myself but use a good raw brand. My question is, is it safe to feed a puppy a raw diet? What are the pros and cons?

When done right, it is safe. The biggest issue is making sure that your puppy gets everything she needs, nutritionally. It isn't easy to do. I haven't ever fed a "raw brand," so I can't speak to that part of your question. When I did it, I had to make the meals myself, as there were no pre-packaged raw foods at that time. A true raw food diet can be time consuming to prepare.
