Today I took our 2.5 year old Daisy for a re-check of her right eye entropion surgery. While we were there, I asked the doc to check her lady parts, because I have never had a female dog before, and I'm not sure what is normal, but thought there was some swelling. Daisy has been spayed. He said that she has an "invaginated vulva". The vulva is tucked inside a fold of skin so that when she urinates, the urine can collect around the vulva, causing irritation. The treatment is surgery, but I can only guess how painful that might be, not to mention another few weeks in the E collar. He applied a drying powder, Neo-Predef, antibacterial. Costs $50 for a very small bottle. Is this common in GRs? Anyone have experience with this? Any help is appreciated!
