Our golden pup, Penny, was spayed last Wednesday (Exactly one week ago.) She has been her usual, hyper, friendly self but her incision looks *off* to me and a few friends. It seems a bit red, possibly inflamed. It does not seem to bother her at all. The most attention she has given it is the second day and she simply sniffed it as if to say "what in the world is this?" She does, however, refuse to take it easy. Between my two year old son and my friend's seven year old who is staying with us for the summer, there is a lot of excitement in the house and she sees no problem running around or jumping even though I have had MANY talks with her telling her otherwise.
I have tried googling pictures of other incisions with very little results. The other posts with spay complications I've come across on the forum do not look like hers.
Please let me know what you think of her incision! She is due back for her post-op check up in one week but I will gladly bring her in to see the vet in the morning if anyone thinks it's necessary!
The pictures attached are the day of (we were NOT impressed with her stitches to begin with) and two from tonight, slightly different exposure in each.
