why is it when it is POURING outside it takes forever for your dog to poop?? You are trying to hold an umbrella as you walk him and even though you are wearing boots your feet and pant legs get all wet!!!
Oh, also when you have got to get to work earlier than usual so you only have like 15 min for a walk, and of course he won't poop so you feel bad all day when you are at work because he has to hold it?

It's the same way when it's 20 below zero and you are standing there with snot icicles hanging from your nose while your dog takes his sweet old time finding a place to go!

Tucker did that to me last winter when it was FREEZING and I had bronchitis!

They just CAN'T seem to find the right spot? They will spin and squat and you think, WHOO! But no. Not a good spot. So then they wander, spin and squat again. Still nada.

Forward to 34 squats later and CHA-CHING! The eagle has landed!!

I can walk Jake all day and he won't do anything. He will only do his business in the backyard, and only in a particular area. The problem is that he won't do it aloine. If he barks at the patio door to be let out and I open the dorr, he will just stand there and look up at me and refuse to go out until I step out first. If I go back inside, he will paw at the door and stay there until I go outside. It is as if he wants an audience...

I just opened this thread, and Gus started whining to go out. It's still pouring here, but I let them all out anyway. Gus just went to the middle of the yard and laid down. On the nasty, red muddy ground, in the pouring rain.

And he'll still probably end up in my bed tonight

Let's see if Finn has read this thread. It's snowing outside (a potential for 21 inches by Thursday morning), and he won't stay out to potty on his own; I have to stand out there with him:( But I do have a covered porch so the snow will only land on him, not me:)

Last winter, I kept a blanket by the door. For ME cuz I'd be out in that field freezin my butt off (not that you could tell!), waiting for Max to poop. I'd wrap that blanket around me, over my coat, and that would keep me from being a complete popsicle. Max, meanwhile, meandered around, totally oblivious to Mom's discomfort.

Phoebe loves the rain...she poops right away but doesn't want to come in. Fortunately the back yard is fenced so I can just watch from inside. My cairns are a little trickier...hate the rain, can't find a spot, circle, circle..no not there...circle, circle..can't we please go in, circle, circle...maybe over there mom...circle, circle...I need to go in and dry off..circle, circle...you really expect me to potty in the rain...circle, circle, I don't think it's gonna happen...fine, I'll do it.

I feel your frustration!
