Was walkin' around the backyard when I saw some purple sticking up through some leaves.

I started digging and found a pretty rock!! At least I thought so....

It'll make a pretty paperweight or bookend. Wish I knew what it was!

Yeah, I think it might be a big quartz. It's quite large. Apparently Amethyst is just another name for Purple Quartz

Looks like possibly amethyst crystals and maybe some others maybe quartz. I wonder if inside the fracture line is possibly lined with purple crystals. Do you have a rock and gem club near you? Maybe someone could make a few amethyst stones out of it, it would depend on the quality of the crystals! Might be worth something?

Yeah I'm gonna see if there's some sort of rock and gem store nearby or something.

Cool! The crack in it has some pretty deep purple colored stuff in it LOL.

That's a stunning piece of nature! Who needs to go to gift shops when you can get such beauty for free. I'm loving the contrast of the purple and peach "maple leaf" pattern.
