So today I took my 4 month old GR to a local pond and wetland area for the first time and she loved it. She loved running through the reeds and and had no hesitation jumping in the ponds and streams to swim and fetch sticks. It was pretty cool to see her in her natural habitat.
So it got me thinking about maybe training her to do some huting. I live about 5 minutes away from a large waterfowl management area that is open for hunting (during the season), and plenty of fields that I could do some training. But I have only hunted a few times and never any waterfowl, so I wouldn't know how to start or how much work it is. Living in Utah I know a lot of big game hunters but not any bird hunters.
So what suggestions do you guys have? What type of commands should I be working on now if I decide to do it?
FYI: the dog takes to training really well and loves learning new cmmands.
Thanks,
