My friend swears by pet insurance and uses Petplan.com

I am considering it for my younger girl...she is so athletic I worry about what would happen if she did tear her ACL.

After the ouch from Angelina's dentistry I could use it for that when she gets old too (have to read the fine print).

Just wondering what you all thought of it for pets and/or breeders....

thanks! K

I got pet insurance for Beamer the day he came home. I think it depends on your situation. You can either get insurance or you can set aside money each month for the dogs in a savings account. It depends on how well of a saver you are. For me, insurance was a better way to go because I am a college student. I know I would not be able to pay a huge amount of money for surgery and not have that money back. It is just peace of mind for me. We thankfully haven't had to use it yet.

I forgot to mention that I have petplan and I went with the gold plan.
