We are really looking at rescuing another golden as a brother for our 1 year old Molly. However, LOL, I'm sitting here with a golden lap dog wondering how in the world am I going to deal with 2 golden lap babies? I am home during the day so the creatures in the house are always attached more to me than anyone else (I'm not complaining!) but I am trying to figure out how you deal with 2 georgeous babies who want to be in your lap? :p:

I'm wondering this myself as I just saw an ad on craigslist for a golden boy right around the same age as my new puppy...I was thinking it would be a good playmate...but I just don't think I could handle two puppies!! :) Sorry I can't help...lol

Two young pups are harder than two older pups in my opinion. Of course, I have three dogs, so that kind of takes it one step further (plus the occasional foster puppy). My boys are much more cuddly and touchy-feely and I have two hands and two legs (for heads to rest on). My girl likes to be in the middle of the pack when we are having couch time, but other than that, she doesn't really need the kind of attention my boys do. It could also be her age, she will be 9 in two months.

My Mollie was one year old when we got Willie. Willie became my lap dog and Mollie my foot dog. They sorted it out just fine. Mollie and Willie are inseparable. I am retired, live on an acreage far from town and I am with the "pups" almost 24/7. Yes, I do have a life beyond goldens...... Well maybe.....:)

Too cute! Look at them cuddling. LOL, however, I don't generally sit in the middle of our couch. :)

We would like to adopt a boy around Molly's age, 1 or so. I'd like a blonde golden boy to contrast my red golden girl. I've been watching the rescue group websites in our areas. Although I think we are going to wait until the new year so that I can get through the holidays without trying to figure out how to maneuver 2 goldens through several states.

We have 2 puppies 2 months apart in age....8 months and 10 months. Austin is my true lap dog...he loves to sit on my lap and get his belly rubbed. Lincoln is a bit more rambunctious and would rather case out the house then be a lap dog...he does love a belly rub and his ears rubbed though. We also have a 9 year old who likes any kind of attention. Thank goodness there are 2 of us in the house. However, we make it work with the puppies to ensure neither gets left out. I couldn't imagine not having at least 2 dogs in the house......

You will when you have 2 ;)

Good idea about waiting until after the holidays. Bringing a new dog into the home can be a little stressful for them to adjust to the new situation, and for the humans and the current dog to adjust as well! Better to have a stable, constant routine from day 1 rather than holiday crazyness.

And good idea about a red and a blondie... I happen to like that combination very much :) Though don't automatically limit yourself.. you may just fall in love with another redhead..

LOL....it CAN be done!! I have a 6 month old and a 3 month old. ALOT of potty breaks and ALOT of supervision. At this age their size difference combined with age makes rough play alittle scary. They can never be left unattended, even for a minute. Do you have anyone else to help? Its good when you can switch off being "on duty".
