Hi all... It wasnt a beautiful Sunday afterall. Few days back my mother in law Pomeranian Doggy was hit by a car and passed away. Nobody knows who did it. They basicaly hit and run. Today, I witness it myself and it happen to my beautiful Golden.

Buddy was doing his business right in front of our house. Not even close to the middle of the road. This car was speeding around housing area, lose control and bang into Buddy. He din even bother to stop and say sorry. He straight away stepped on full throttle and ran away.

Buddy have to bear all the pain in him. He walked home with his both legs covered with blood. He did not even cry or scream. He walked back to my hubby and request for a pat. I was seriously stun, I couldnt move or talk at that point of time.

I am sinking into depression. Can anyone here help me how to de-stress? Both hubby and me have terrible heartache. Our heart broke into pieces to see our lil boy suffer.

here are some pictures of Buddy after we clean him up and head straight to the Vet hospital.

It's things like this that make me question humanity sometimes. If someone could willingly hit and injure and animal and drive away without any concern, what can they do to another human being?

This story made me gasp out loud and I hurt so much for you and your Buddy. He is so very fortunate to have a caring family that took him to the vet and had him seen to. I'm so sorry this happened and please keep us updated. Did the vet x-ray his legs? Was anything broken?

My dear..he is fine..nothing broken, we thank god for that. But to see our child suffer , the pain is in us. Didnt took X-ray according to the vet he is fine. he can walk normally. But the moement his leg covered up with blood, that was unbearable. He is strong! He got bang and he stood up and walk home. I am so proud of my boy.

Well, I would trust your vet. But if you notice him limping or favoring a leg, or if there's any swelling, take him in. It would be wonderful if he got through all this with just a few cuts - although that one on his knee looks so deep. :(

He sounds like a strong dog, and I am sure he will heal beautifully. I can understand how difficult it is seeing our dogs in pain. But he has his family. :) Spoil him rotten while he recovers!

And humans are supposed to be the intelligent species, makes me wonder sometimes.

Hope Buddy continues to be well, and the unknown driver gets what is coming to them

Did he need stiches? That last picture on your blog of his left rear leg looks like quite a laceration requiring stiches. Applying ice for 20 minutes a few times a day will help with swelling. I disagree with no xrays. It's very difficult to tell after all your dog has been through that no internal damage was caused. Perhaps a second opinion is in order. What about keeping him on a short leash when your dog goes out to do his business?

Thank You all for your concern :) The vet told us is just external bruises, we will monitor his movement along his recovery.I was thinking if he is not alright we will take him to another vet for better examination.

All my friends knew Buddy involved in this nasty accident. They drop by for a visit and one of them even got Buddy a soft pillow to comfort him.

He saw his girlfriend next door and he refused to go out for a play as well.

Yeah! Buddy has an angel with him. We believe is our Pomeranian who passed away 2 weeks back on the same accident. Thank You Lord and Sparky for guarding him.

Poor Buddy!
LauraBella has a good point - the crazy driver was probably impaired in some way, or didn't have insurance....something he's not proud of. The important thing is that it probably didn't have as much of an impact on Buddy as you.

Let's hope that his recovery is quick and uneventful. Meanwhile, can you put a little fence in front of your property to define it from the road? At least that way a driver will hit the fence first and scratch up his precious car.

Give Buddy lots of hugs for me.

I'm so glad to hear that Buddy is ok!

Those accidents make me cautious about where I'm living now (in the country) because we have beet trucks flying down gravel roads. Yesterday I was installing a battery in a car, Packer and Lambeau disappeared. I went searching for them called for them countless times before they came running to me. My relative who owns this farm looks at me and says "they'd come home when they were ready, your just too overprotective of them, let them be dogs and run" - I couldn't believe the comment, especially since she has her own dog. I'll continue to be overprotective of them.
