Hi everyone!:wavey:
I just found this forum while looking for information on how to deal with a grieving dog. I currently have 1 golden, Bear, a male that is 2 years old. We just lost his best buddy, Chaos, who was 11, on 10/19/09. Chaos passed from cancer, a hermangio sarcoma to be exact. Though my sweet KK can never be replaced, we are going to get another golden (pup) to add to our family soon.

I'm a new empty nester of twins, and now all of my loving attention is going to the dogs lol!! Looking forward to "meeting" everyone, and picking your brains for helpful advice.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. We live in the North Bay - love it here!
As far as putting up the pictures, I am trying, but it keeps kicking back saying upload failed. I've tried doing the avatar & the siggy pics, but no luck. I'm uploading from my computer, so do I need to go thru photobucket instead? Any help would be much appreciated - apparently I need to fire up my brain with another cup of coffee  lol

welcome! I am glad you found us. I was having a really hard time uploading too. I found that if i made the pictures smaller it would upload them just fine. Don't know if that helps. So sorry to hear of your loss. My Molly dog went through the same thing. It broke my heart to see her so listless all the time. I swear her face got so grey in the two weeks after we lost Goldie. When we got Bailey she did a complete turn around. Good luck with Bear and the new puppy

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our Petey at 9 1/2 with hemangiosarcoma in 2005 and we miss him terribly still. Our other golden was so depressed we got a female(Emmy) and then we lost our Beau in January. He was 11. Emmy now has a brother Gambler and I am amazed how getting a buddy really helps them. It NEVER replaces what you have lost but adds to the family of goldens in your heart. Can't wait to see pictures.

Welcome to the forum but I am sorry you had to find us because of the death of Chaos. I love his name. If you do upload the pictures from your photobucket accoutn copy the image code and paste it to your thread. Usually if they are too big is when it wont let them load directly to the site. So have you picked a breeder out or are you going rescue? No matter what you choose, I know the puppy will help everyone in the family including Bear. They dont replace the one lost but help to help your heart heal.

Welcome to the forum. I am sorry for your loss of Chaos, we lost our Jake last year from hemangiosarcoma. Our son's golden was staying with us at the time and he was not himself for a long time after Jake's passing.

Would love to see pictures when you have a chance, and can get them loaded (it took me awhile to figure it out).

Thanks for the welcomes & condolences. We did look into the rescue goldens in our area, but the dogs that were available at the time that I looked were around 9 years old. After talking about it, we decided that we couldn't fall in love again and lose yet another one so soon, plus we didn't want to put Bear through the emotional rollercoaster again.

As far as pics go, I need to go fire up my recently retired PC, and pull those pictures out so I can post them here. Funny isn't it, once you get a new laptop, it is reaaallllll hard to go back to the prehistoric dinosaur lol!! Could someone tell me where you find the cute siggy frames that many of you have? I just love them! Thanks!
