***WARNING PICS OF DOG POO AT THE END OF THE POST***
So last night I walked Mac at an odd time, around 3:30am.
He was whining like he had to go to the bathroom, usually a sign when he barks. We crate train him.
Anyway I took him out and sure enough he pooped. At this point I noticed that one of the small pieces was white. It freaked me out but it was only one small part so I thought maybe it was cotton/stuffing from a dog toy or napkins or something.
I would also like to mention that Mac got into the trash the on Friday night when I " tried " to let him sleep outside his cage for the evening. He got to the trash and took out an empty bag of potato chips and undoubtedly licked the whole thing before ripping the bag to shreds. He also got at some napkins/paper towels. This is typical if he gets in the trash and normally he gets the runs for one day if anything.
Going on, this morning around 7 when he was walked again, this time by my girlfriend, it was a crazy color. It was like very light tan/white looking. It has some brown sprinkled in but mostly white. It reminded me of those styrofoam peanuts you get in a UPS package. The smell was very strange. It did not smell like dog poop. Rather, like some sort of stale smell. Impossible to explain.
One thing that scared me / stood out was some red in the stool. I didn't smush the poo so I don't know if it was like, a piece of red plastic or maybe an undigested pepper or something. It looked too concentrated to be blood but it might have been. It was only visible in one piece of poop.
I did a quick search and saw some answers saying it may be undigested calcium. I'm trying to consider what he may have got from the garbage that would overload his calcium intake I'm not too sure.
One thing that scares me is the snow. This is Macs first time playing in deep snow and he goes crazy and eats the snow. My fear is that he may have eaten something underneath the snow or maybe a pellet of salt or something. There is obviously no way at all to prove this.
Any help/input would be greatly appreciated.
