Husband and I brought home our first dog together (our lovely 9 month old golden retriever puppy Zelda) only 4.5 months ago, but we cannot remember a time without her even though it hasn't been that long in reality.

Zelda has brought such love into our lives and we can't imagine life without her. We sometimes wonder if she's "broken" because she can be so chill (especially for her age) and serious compared to the goofball goldens we see on the internet, but we wouldn't have it any other way because that's just Zelda. She doesn't bark unless told or if we're taunting her with a toy or treat she wants (that she'd end up getting regardless). She picks up training so quickly that I need to remind myself not to go too fast so as not to frustrate either of us.

She's the princess of the office at my job and is always willing to greet everyone with the nearest toy (or her poop bag holder) in her mouth before "parading" whatever it is around with her butt just wiggling non stop. Tennis balls need to be hidden at work otherwise she is constantly dropping them into my lap so that I can throw it for her to retrieve and the cycle can continue. She's on a 15ft lead at the office with a decent amount of space to stretch out, but always chooses to nap between my file cabinet and chair just to be next to me.

She's not as fluffy as other goldens her age, but that's more than ok with us. We have more than enough golden glitter in the house regardless of coat length. And I've been joking recently that she's 95% legs because she's just so lanky right now.

Can't wait to continue to watch her grow up into the special dog we know she is. ♥

So sweet! I completely understand how you feel. I can't imagine life without our girl even though it's only been a little under a year and a half.

Zelda is looking like a bit of a goofball in a couple of those pics though so I don't know if she qualifies as a serious golden. :)

She definitely has her moments. We're still learning all her little quirks and just watching her blossom more and more every day.
