Have you ever been held hostage by your GR?

This morning I was!! I was sitting on the carpet and Monster Max nudged me off balance and I went down. He started licking my face, then walking on my hair into another angle to lick again, walking more on my hair...it went something like lick pull lick lick pull pull lick lick pull lick pull pull for at least 2 minutes! I was giggling at first but after a while and numerous hair pullings I so wanted up! Thank goodness my son was there to lure Max away with a treat or I might still be laying on the living room carpet being mauled.

In the morning when Buddy has decided it's time for me to get up, he comes up and lays down on top of my shoulders and sometimes my head - then I start getting a facial. I start laughing and try to give up and get up, which for some reason makes him lick more and not move. DH usually has to pull him off.
I have been there like that with mine but tagged teamed. In fact this morning, I was in bed and Bama with Pawley laid on either side of me on top of the covers so I was stuck. Then it was lick fest. Finally I had to yell for hubby to come in and help me. If he was gone I probably would have been stuck till he got home.
Every night after I eat dinner and the boys have been out I have to brace for the Caue attack when he comes in. It is his MISSION to give me 22,000 licks. He literally pins me in my recliner and nearly licks my eyeballs out. I laugh and he will stop when I say "enough" and bench press him off my face. :p: I do hope it is a phase.

22,000....wow....that is the magic number!!!
sometimes Logan will grab a sock when I,m in bed and he will growl wagging tail and walk all over you
Every morning when i come downstairs for Dudu's morning walk, he is always so excited as if he has not seen me in days. I usually sit on the sofa and drink a glass of water before we go out, this is when the lick attack starts, he is all over my face, and i will spill water all over myself, sometimes i cant even tell if i am actually drink water or his drool, lol :yuck:
When I get home from school, I usually sit on the floor to snuggle with Max awhile. Lately he gets this obsessed look and goes straight for my face, which is then washed at least 222 times, and he will put his paw on my cheek to keep me pinned there, etc. I thought I had the only dog that did this! He's a goofnut!
I haven't been held hostage but I have definitely been PINNED when I wake up in the morning. And they have no intention of moving until they absolutely have to. :)
It happned to me today with Cooper. I was laying on the floor trying to stretch my back and he flops down on me and starts licking my face. I finally got him off me and he just gave me the big smile and licked my face once more for good measure.
hehe! Yep - in the morning Griff thinks that "let's get up now" means to jump up and lay on me. Pinned isn't the word - SQUASHED is more like it!
That's so cute! If they aren't getting attention they demand it! Even if it means holding their owner hostage. LOL
