Eleven-year-old Zachary will no doubt be enjoying a Thanksgiving feast in his new adoptive home. Zachary came to YGRR because his owner could no longer have the dog in her housing complex. Because of financial constraints, Zach was not up to date on his vaccinations and had not been to see a veterinarian for quite awhile.
Zachary was brought to the YGRR vet where a number of masses were removed and sent out for biopsy. He also was neutered, given his YGRR Tattoo, a dentistry and brought up to date on his vaccinations. Zach came to Riverview to recuperate and his sweet temperament quickly won everyone over! Unfortunately, one of the masses turned out to be a squamous cell carcinoma. Repeat adopters with YGRR had been waiting for a senior/special needs Golden and Zachary certainly fit the bill! As soon as they met Zach, they said he was the one for them! His new adopters will keep a close eye on any new lumps and bumps and give Zach the best home possible.
On behalf of Zachary and all the Rescue Goldens awaiting homes at Riverview, Happy Thanksgiving!
