Today, Aug. 19, my angle faced girl KayCee and her brother, Hunter, now at the Bridge turn 7 years old.

There are new ones here that do not know about Hunter. He died on Oct. 16, 2003 of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and liver damage brought on by the 6 month heart worm preventative injection, ProHeart6. On Sept. 3, 2004, it was pulled from the market at the request of the FDA because of the high number of reports of adverse reactions and deaths it caused. This was to late for my Hunter and hundreds of others already at the bridge and more doomed to go there over the next two years because of side effects of that drug. Overseas it is called different names. And in some cases it is a 12 month injection, which the maker says is triple the strength of the 6 month that was used here. I believe in most or Europe it is called Guardian.

My precious boy still lives in my heart and I celebrate his birthday along with KayCee's. Happy Birthday sweet babies.

Yes, he is on the right in the first two--as you look at them--and on the left in the last picture. The one of them grown, they were waiting for supper. This is how they waited for meals--lay on the floor together and watch me. They truly cared so much about each other. When KayCee had her knee surgeries at age 16 and 28 months, Hunter would lay beside her on the floor where she had to be tied and lick her face. It was so touching. KayCee still lies in the same place in that same position and watches me fix their meals.
