I think I'm returning Charlie now for sure. Today, he ate some other dog's (loose) poop!!!! It was so gross!!!

His mouth stinks now and he keeps trying to lick me. It's like he knows it grosses me out and is teasing me.

I'm so grossed out.

Oh I know exactly how you feel!!!!!!
Marley would poop and just turn around and lick it up. When the pups poop in the yard I usually wait for about 4 piles before I pick them up, so when I let them in the yard to potty Marley goes straight to his old poop for a snack. Also when I take them on open-space off leash walks both of them would eat perry-dog poop and duck/geese poop. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! And their breath smells oh so yummy =P

sashac - Before you rush Charlie out of your life, check this out:

http://www.dogplay.com/Behavior/poop.html

It's a fact that some dogs practice Coprophagia. We must remember that dogs are what they are and we must be careful not to hang our human traits on what they do. Eating poop would kill you and me, but dogs - well, sometimes they eat poop - as gross and vile as that it is. Don't give up on Charlie because your next dog may do the same thing and may actually be worse about it!

Hahahaha....dogs are nuts. Just in case.... I was kidding about returning Charles. Stinky poop breath and all, he's the love of my life. Besides, quite unfortunately, his efforts to "kiss and make up" finally paid off (on accident!!) He got one in right on the kisser this afternoon!!!! Yes, that's right. He managed to nail my mouth with his gross cat poop tongue. I'm over it.

I'm sorry GR folks I can't be a lot of help here on this one. However, I would to point out once again; "Look at the bright side of your Golden eating dog / cat do-do! And there is a hidden bright spot here trust me!
I would take do-do chrewing / eating / breath / face lick'n golden over a
fresh sprayed golden by a fury black & white skunk! (rubber stamp this BTDTas in Been There Done That)

Don't get me wrong in a small way I feel your pain, even with gloves on!
After a GR owner gets rid of there dogs do-do breath, you won't get a
visit from a EPA ground crew aiding & asking you to burn the clothes
you were wearing after your clean up chore with your fur face complete.

It's like this
Pick One;
A. ___ Golden with do-do breath.
or
B. ___ Golden sprayed by a Skunk.

"Katiesmommy says" Although I dont have any first hand experience in this area, I'm going out on a limb here and saying that with or without pineapples, poop is not something I would recommend trying LOL.
Yeah.....I can't imagine pineapple makes it taste "worse."

Tawny would get intot he cat box and I would put a little toothpaste on her tongue. She didn't like that one bit. Now she sneaks kitty poop when I'm not looking. I've busted her and she acts oh so innocent. But at least she doesn't try to lick my face right after a trip to the litter box anymore.

There is another interesting post from JOLIE dated 2005. I haven’t gone through it all but it has been visited by over 1000 members so it is worth a shot “Dog consuming own feaces”.

Just type “dog eating stool” in the search box and that should take you there.

Rick is obviously shy about forwarding his famous links, so let me do the honors!
