Hi everyone,

I'm am a prospective golden owner from SoCal. I just graduated from college and will start working in a few months. I want a new best friend who will accompany me in my next stage of life. I've been reading many books on Goldens, specifically, finding the right breeder. The last thing I want is for my new best friend to suffer from hip dysplasia or cancer.

A particular breeder I came across that seems very reliable is sunbeam goldens (Sunbeam Goldens). Would anyone have their contact information and where they are located? I can't see to find it online. If other reputable breeders out there, do let me know.

I'm glad to join such a big community!!

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum! I live in Washington, so I don't have any information on CA breeders, sorry. I just want to say this is a great place to find the information you need. Have you checked out the puppy buyers checklist here?

I have a Sunbeam golden Sunbeam's Gimme One More Shot. His call name is Gambler. We lost our sweet wonderful Emmy (Sunbeam Thatz Entertainment) in April. A dear friend of mine has 2 Sunbeam goldens right now. I love Cathie's goldens. You can PM me if you have any questions. Here is her website. Sunbeam Goldens

Cathie is a wonderful person and a very good breeder. She is due for a litter on the ground any day now that I almost got a puppy from. You can't go wrong with her. But ask her, and she will tell you that all her dogs die from the same thing. This litter might be different though, as she's breeding out to one of Sharon Shilkoff's dogs, a stunning grand champion named Cutter, who also has agility titles.

Sorry to dredge up an old post but i was researching Cathie, and wondering what that one thing is that her dogs all die from?

We have 2 Sunbeam dogs at the moment (Can. Ch. Sunbeam Woodland Fourever Young & Sunbeam's Pods On Favorite)Gussee is 11 and Steven is 3 1/2. We have had 2 other Sunbeam dogs and they are AMAZING. Cathie will be perfectly honest with anyone interested in her goldens that Cancer is a possibility. The cancer mostly seen is hemangiosarcoma.

Gussee is going STRONG at 11 and gives Steven a tough time. She is happy, healthy and full of love.
Cathie is an amazing breeder, dedicated to goldens and full of knowledge to help me through any questions I have.
