I have a 6 month old male Golden named Jax. He weighs about 48 lbs. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long Golden's continue growing and if he is 48 lbs now, approximately how much he will weigh when full grown. To the best of my ability, I Measured him to his shoulder and he seemed to be 18 ", but I could be off since he would NOT hold still.

I agree with OaklysDad. Do you remember what his parents were like? That might also give you an idea on how tall he will be.

Jax is a rescue (North Shore Animal League in Long Island, NY) in utero. His pregnant Mom came from a puppy mill, so I have no info on the parents. His size realy doesn't matter to me one way or another, I was just curious.

I think Oakly's Dad is right that they will get as tall and long as they will be, by about 10mons to a year, and will fill out and buff up until about 2 years old.

Molson is still growing, but at 8 months he was just under 60 pounds and today at 9 months, he is still pretty much the same height/length but I can see that he's really starting to fill out now. His mom is about 70lbs and his dad about 75-80... all along I've been saying he will stop growing at 74lbs... keeping my fingers crossed! :)

Goldens spend their entire first year of life growing. Like everyone else has said, they reach their full height by around 10-11 months old. Then, they start filling out and the adult coat and feathering will start coming in. The adult coat continues to come in until they are about 24 months old. Generally, males will be a little bit bigger than females.

Sully, female, stays close to the standard of 65 lbs which is consistent with her mom. Scotty, male, at 14 months weighs 78 lbs. Daddy weighs 95 lbs. My vet has always said let a puppy eats what he wants, but keep him active. Luckily, my Goldens are piggys like my Basset.
