Sooo I don’t know if I’m being paranoid or what but I noticed that Stella’s eyes are glassy and glossy looking for the past day or so. She will be 6 months in a few weeks. I just want some reassurance that her eyes look fine, and it’s not something serious. Did anyone else have this happen with their golden puppies?

Is she eating and drinking normally? Playing, sleeping? No vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy? Pooping and peeing normal amounts? I’m not seeing anything abnormal but when in doubt, off to the vet, yes?

It may just be as simple as the sun’s angle changing with the seasons and reflecting differently in her eyes. But you know your dog, so getting her into the vet is worth the peace of mind.

I don’t profess to be any kind of expert - but have her eyes always slightly drooped so that the white shows? If you sense there has been a change- gut feeling would be take her to knowledgeable vet (or preferably a canine eye specialist) if only for your peace of mind.

FWIW, my dog is on chemo right now. Along with side effects of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, something I noticed is that her eyes were looking glassy. I asked the oncologist if I was just imagining it, and he said no, that it was another indicator of her feeling unwell. So at the very least, I'd have your pup checked out for overall health - there could be something making her feel unwell and even nauseous.

Yes, something looks off with the eyes, possibly an infection? I would definitely get her checked out and please update us. Hope that everything is fine and it’s just a weird/light camera thing!

Hey everybody!! Thanks so much for all the love and concern and advice!
I took her to the vet today and turns out she has an immune disorder called extraocular myositis. Our vet prescribed her some steroid pills and she has a check up in two weeks. Praying our sweet girl’s eyes go back to normal!!
Great that you got her checked out and have a confirmed diagnosis. Wishing her a speedy recovery
