It's been 2 years today that we had to send our golden girl to the bridge - so unexpectedly, and the pain and the hurt of that awful day is still as strong now as it was then. Not a day goes by when I wish that I had never placed my trust in the out of hours vet (not our usual vets surgery), maybe, just maybe things could have been so different.

From the 26th April 1992 when she chose us, Ginny was always "my" dog and we always had that extra special something. We had 15 wonderful years together and so many memories.

Gin, I know you are now free from pain and running free with Holly, Ralph, Kelly, Emma & Jemma, but there is not one day that goes by that I wish I could not have had just one more day with you

"They will not go quietly, the dogs who have shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives.

Old habits still make us think we hear them at the, or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor.

Our feet still go round the place the food dish used to be, and sometimes coming home late at night, we miss them terribly.

And although time may bring new friends, and a new food dish to fill, that one place in our hearts belong to them ..... and it always will. "

Sleep softly now my baby girl, I know you always walk with me on silent paws, and we will meet again.

Jan, I understand how sad you feel. It will soon be Megs 2nd anniversary too and it still feels like it all happened yesterday. I remember posting about Meg on the forum and you told me about Ginny. I dont think I realised then just how short a time before you had lost her, or if I did I didn't understand how raw it would still be. Anniversaries bring all that pain back but, like Meg, she had a good long happy life and we couldn't have asked for more. That is such a lovely photo of her, she was beautiful.

Jan, It doesnt get any easier does it, the longer we have them the harder it is to lose them, Leanne my Irish Setter was 16 and people said oh but she had a good long life but you start as they get older to think they are invincable.

Ginny was a beautiful girl, and I hope that you can just reflect on the wonderful happy times you had together those memorries will stay with you forever.
Hugs from me Honey and Jade.

Ginny was a beautiful and sweet girl. These anniversaries are always so hard but know that she is smiling down on you and telling everyone what a great family she has. May your memories help to heal some of your pain.
